All modern wars since WWII have been fought for resources and power – certainly not to bring democracy or peace to anyone. America keeps the world in a constant state of chaos thanks to the murderous psychopaths in the CIA, and this policy creates massive profits for the true rulers of the planet: Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Raytheon, and their ilk [the Military-Industrial Complex: MIC].
The United States is now militarily involved in over 170 countries.
For decades America has routinely deposed democratically elected leaders, assassinated the opposition and supported mayhem and terror across the globe. Examples are numerous and well documented.
Impoverished nations have no real power other than state terrorism, which in the grand scheme of things amounts to nothing in the way of a real threat to the greatest nation on earth. But ISIS is different. They are trying to build what amounts to a terrorist state in Syria. With that kind of support base, they can be a real threat to American corporate interests. This is why we continue to be involved in endless war.
America is a total war economy. More than half of all tax dollars go to fund the MIC and its many corporate tentacles. The need to declare war is defacto. People persist in the naïve belief that congress must declare war for it to be “official.” That quaint notion went out the window a long time ago. Allen Dulles took care of that with his policy of political assassinations and brutal suppression as head of CIA in the late 50s and early 60s.
During his evil reign, the Agency helped overthrow virtually every fledgling democracy on the planet and installed American corporate-friendly dictators in their place. This policy has produced grave consequences for humanity right up to the present day with the insane, illegal drone program carried out by the Obama administration.
Today’s wars are not about moral issues, much less the pursuit of justice or security. They are about economics, military deployment and the expenditure of ammunition: all of which result in significant profits for the MIC. This is the only explanation which can account for the endless provocations and insults visited upon the Muslim people over the last seventy years.
Anyone with the faintest grasp of psychology understands that this is a provocation and motivation for continued hostilities. You bomb villages and wedding parties, you’re going to get the relatives of the people you killed coming back at you with whatever means is available to them. The late great Chalmers Johnson coined the term ‘Blowback’ to describe this trend.
The goal of terrorists is to inspire terror because that is all they are capable of. The most important act of defiance is the refusal to give in to fear.
