Positive Change

In the wake of yet another stolen election, what must be done to make presidential elections fair? What mechanism – other than casting a worthless ballot every 4 years – gives rise to the True voice of the people?

The changes needed to save our democracy are impossible under the present system. The new progressives’ faith in the American voter is terribly misplaced. The American voter for the most part isn’t a rational being in any real sense; he thinks not with his brain, but with his huge beer gut.

The average American doesn’t read beyond a sixth-grade level and they essentially believe whatever FOX News tells them to. They are easily misled, completely amoral, and most are lacking the critical thinking skills necessary to make even mildly-informed decisions.

America wasn’t designed to be a democracy. It’s a Republic. The founding fathers never meant for anyone but oligarchs to hold power. Thus the Electoral College: final bulwark against democratic government.

The oligarchs are never going to permit publicly funded elections in any case. Republicans are against publicly funded anything and Democrats benefit from the system as much as the supposed opposition so they won’t do anything to change it. Term limits are never going to happen either.

The only way to generate positive change now is through political action: civil disobedience. If you’re not ready to ‘go to the mattresses’ for the revolution, there will be no change. It’s sure as hell not going to come about by voting. A new progressive movement will require massive civil disobedience, general strikes, boycotts and large-scale protests.

This is something that the government will try to suppress because they understand that if you want a compliant citizenry, you must appeal to their emotions. Post-Trump progressives must take a lesson from Standing Rock: be prepared for a violent reaction from the authorities, expect to get beaten up, maced, tear gassed, pepper sprayed, and shot with ‘non-lethal’ ammunition.

To garner the people’s support you must first make them see the oppression. It is absolutely on the agenda for the MSM to ignore this protest – even when the inevitable deaths occur – simply because it is happening in such a relatively remote location.

But it must be worth the sacrifice – a few brave souls will inevitably take the full brunt of the empire’s firepower – if progressives ever intend to capture the imagination of the general public. Clearly, we need to go back to sixties style protests. We need to return the violence and repression inherent in our backward society with more compassion and more empathy.

Make no mistake, however: there can be no political revolution without bloodshed.
