For the past 40-plus years, the USA has attached its currency to petroleum, and more recently, natural gas.

Since President Nixon took America off the gold standard in 1972, we’ve been on the oil standard (“petro dollars”). The key to the dollar being the reserve currency of the world is OIL, plain and simple. When your currency is the global reserve currency, you can control the world economy through financial means. This is what the US has been doing since the 1970s with our Military Industrial Complex in concert with the economic hit men from Wall Street.

The reason the US invaded Iraq had nothing to do with humanitarian reasons or imaginary chemical weapons or nukes. Iraq was targeted for destruction because Saddam Hussein tried to buy oil in Euros instead of petrodollars. The Military-Industrial-Financial Complex swooped into action and the troops were sent in. Same with Qaddafi in Libya.

Global finances would be quite different in a world powered by renewable energy.

People understand that if the global community stopped using US dollars as the reserve currency America would basically be a third world country, right? The power of the US dollar is evident by the fact that everyone on Earth uses oil. But now but that’s coming to an end. It’s not surprising that the US is absolutely tanking at the same time.

It’s truly remarkable to see how quickly and how completely Trump has managed to utterly betray his white trash base – as well as all the working Americans who didn’t fall for his scam.

The interests of the owners of the country – the economic elite, the so-called 1% – live vastly different lives from the average American. Most Americans want a decent job and a decent day’s pay. The economic elite on the other hand are NEVER satisfied; they always want more: more money, more wealth, more power; more underage prostitutes. Whatever it is, it’s never enough…until their black hearts explode, just like poor Antonin Scalia.

The world for them is a zero-sum game. They want war: Americans want peace. They want conflict and discord: Americans want peace and cooperation. Guess who wins this argument?

This is the society which unfettered capitalism promotes; the most corrupt and avaricious rise to the top.

The 1% will do everything in their power to make sure Americans never hear of the alternatives to their unjust economic system which enriches the few at the expense of the many. Our government is essentially owned by the Koch brothers, The Mercers and their ilk. They were able to nullify the ability of solar panel owners to sell their surplus energy back to the utility companies – which was an original intended benefit to those who installed solar arrays. Look for every underhanded method they can legislate, including impossibly high tariffs for manufacturers, down to outright penalties for ownership.

See, we just don’t have the money to rebuild America’s infrastructure. We need more revenue, and to get that revenue we need to…you know…cut taxes for the rich again, of course! That, and just the right amount of magic Pixie Dust has raised revenue every time it’s been tried. Forget all the historical facts that show otherwise; they are nothing but fake stories planted by fake news outlets run by commie pinko faggots for the express purpose of destroying the American dream.
