The Republican Party, at least since Reagan, has not supported any legislation or promoted any regulations which could possibly help the unwashed masses in any way, and they never will again. Their efforts to monetize everything since then and their relentless gutting of policies and regulations protecting our food, water and air have been catastrophic. Their refusal to support any semblance of sane gun control, or frankly ANYTHING which would improve the quality of life for most people has been nothing short of treasonous.

Sadly, it is the way of the GOP these days. Society means nothing to the so-called “culture warriors.” Money and profit are the only considerations. When conservatives are in power they eventually destroy our communities and ultimately, our way of life. We do still only just have the power to stop this now before it’s too late. The power of the ballot box, though seriously degraded, can still work. Especially in local elections.

Many illiberal, extremist forces are driving the west towards fascism and authoritarianism. In the USA this Right-Wing extremism is rooted in the bizarre evangelical notion of the rapture, and bringing on the end of days to hasten the return of Jebus. They are driven to create conflict by supporting grievance-driven racism, misogyny, homophobia and other forms of hate – all amplified by social media algorithms.

And they are somehow able to promote White Supremacy, antisemitism and Zionist extremism at the same time..!

Big Oil and our friends in the Military-Industrial Complex are the real puppet masters behind all of this, encouraging these fake culture wars. They seek to divert our attention from the true roots of our grievances: the Ruling Class.

The overall quality of life and the average life span in the USA is rapidly declining because more and more wealth is being sucked out of the economy and hoarded by the ruling class, while they systematically ignore our real problems.

Our Rulers are very cognizant of how ignorant the masses are. They know which three-word slogans will work on the ‘talking monkeys’ and they spout them at every opportunity. Repetition has its rewards.

The unwashed masses don’t have the luxury to educate themselves daily on current affairs. They are too busy trying to keep their heads above water in this endless cycle of ‘survival of the fittest.’

Unfortunately a lot of people don’t even care about what’s going on around them.

That’s why Our Rulers can always get away with this shit.
