JFK DROPPED ACID

[Okay…it was actually Psilocybin…-JD]

In January of 1962, Mary Pinchot Meyer – ex-wife of high-level CIA operative Cord Meyer – began an affair with President John F. Kennedy. Charles Bartlett, a journalist from the Chattanooga Times and a close friend of JFK recalled: “They had great fun together and a lot of things in common. They had a very personal, very close relationship…Jack was in love with Mary…It was a dangerous relationship.”

In April of that year, Meyer began visiting Timothy Leary, the director of research projects at Harvard University, at his compound at Millbrook in upstate New York. LSD was legal at the time and Mary and a group of friends began to experiment with the new drug back home in DC. According to Leary’s biography, Flashbacks, she said: “I want to learn how to run an LSD session…I have this friend who’s a very important man. He’s impressed by what I’ve told him about my own LSD experiences and what other people have told him. He wants to try it himself.”

White House logs show that Mary Meyer visited the president on fifteen separate occasions between October 1961 and August 1963, always when Jackie is known to have been away from Washington, DC; with one possible exception when her whereabouts are unknown. On at least one occasion Meyer claimed to have smoked a joint with JFK inside the White House before the two dropped acid together.

Take a moment to contemplate that reality. The idea of the president of the United States tripping on pharmaceutical LSD in the White House is pretty hard to imagine. But it’s true. Remember: acid wasn’t even illegal at the time. The experience must have been a real eye-opener…

Fun fact: The American University speech (the “Peace” speech) came soon after JFK allegedly took his acid trip(s?) That was the famous speech in June of 1963 where he declared an end to the Cold War and pledged to banish nuclear weapons from the face of the earth.

I leave it to the reader to decide if there is a connection.
