To create substantive political change which goes beyond symbolic action, young people and their supporters who want to stop the country’s epidemic of gun violence need to create an organizational infrastructure.

Then they need to gather the vast financial resources necessary to counter the death grip the NRA has on Umerkin “democracy.” But because Umerka is an oligarchy, beset by extreme wealth and income disparity, where bribery is a First Amendment right – this will be extremely difficult. In this political reality, mass demonstrations such as protests and marches are simply not sufficient to create effective, long-lasting political change. It will take constant vigilance and engagement on every level.

The radical students of the 60s were beaten; tear gassed; imprisoned and killed; just like their leaders. It is the greed-mongers of the 80s – Saint Ronnie Reagan and all those lying deregulation cheerleaders and the repulsive, “greed is good” Gordon Gecko type financial speculators who have brought us to the present debacle.

These are the very same forces behind the destruction of everything that was good and pure and righteous about the 60s and its subsequent denial and repudiation in the collective consciousness of Umerkans in the decades that followed.

Reagan, Bush Sr. and Jr., Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, the whole MIC, the CIA and the FBI are hardly “children of the ’60s.” They are the avid destroyers of that sincere idealism.

People need jobs, and there are a LOT of jobs that need to be done. We could use a national daycare system. We need to completely rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. The elderly need caregivers. Hospitals need nurses. We need to plant more trees. We need to develop and encourage solar and wind power generation.

There are simple solutions to all of the problems the 1% have created, but our government is corrupt and dysfunctional. Not only do they neglect their own citizens but they endanger the planet by waging perpetual war and by destabilizing the global economy.

The desire of some for an Umerkin empire is the greatest threat to the planet. Once again the ‘liberal’ media is pushing for more and bigger wars.

The Parkland kids have sparked a multi ethnic, multiracial, anti-gun, anti-death movement. Critically thinking young people, allied with strong women and a rainbow of minorities is the GOP’s absolute worst nightmare. Like the Nazis, the GOP doesn’t want equality or justice for all. They want to control the rest of us. Their actions speak louder than any of their words.

Most of which are moronically stupid.
