The Copernican Principle – when applied to intelligent life on Earth – would confirm that we are not particularly “special” in terms of intelligence in our galaxy, and that our civilization is technologically very young. So it’s a bit of a stretch for a scientist from our “era of observation” (which one could liken to a couple of inches along a miles-long scientific road) to suggest that we’re alone in the universe.
If you put a dog in a room and closed the door – what would it surmise?
Quite likely the dog would think that it was alone, and the entire world consisted of that one room. It might be able to “sniff out” some evidence to the contrary, but it would not have the ability or intellect to explore further.
We are that dog.
Our knowledge regarding extra-terrestrial life is limited by what we know from the single example we can study. We think we know how life begins. We know nothing about what constitutes intelligence; either biological or artificial. NASA isn’t even convinced that we would recognize life if we encountered it.
Most of our assumptions about ET are based on our belief that the speed of light is an absolute limit, and that we (people) can’t travel or communicate faster than light-speed. But that’s only because our backward mainstream science (as opposed to covert science) hasn’t figured out how to do it yet.
It is extremely hubristic to suggest that no other life in the universe exists simply because we can’t see it, or to theorize about its existence. We can forgive the dog in the room because it doesn’t know any better.
But what about us?
Hopefully soon we will learn how to open that door!
To make matters worse, we boldly state that we can see a vast universe above us, pointing at a sky which does not adhere to the predictions of our lame science, and which contains a wealth of habitable planets which we can only barely detect, and which we barely understand at all.
Our confidence in the absence of intelligent life is based on the absence of signs of technologies like radio signals, which 150 years ago didn’t exist on Earth and in 150 years will probably never be used again in a universe where hundreds of millions of years is a more normal time span.
It is virtually impossible that earth is the only planet in the universe capable of supporting intelligent life – if in fact intelligent life actually exists somewhere on Earth. If it happened here, then it very likely it has happened elsewhere. Many, many times over.
We are speculating on potentially advanced civilizations, about which me have no clue. Scanning the sky for radio signals is a fool’s errand. Someone please explain this to SETI. It’s a sign of our scientific hubris that we would even think that aliens behave remotely in the same way as we do.
Let’s say some far-off civilization gets around to inventing radio. They might use it for a hundred or so years, like we have so far. That’s an insignificant proportion of a civilization’s existence. Who can say what kind of technology we might be using in a few hundred years? Very, very, unlikely to be radio, I would suggest. Alien civilizations may have discovered new forms of communication of which we are not aware of yet; including quantum operations.
Other nations are not so easily duped. Take the COMETA report, issued by the French government, which basically states that the UFO phenomenon is real and more importantly, that the United States government is suppressing the evidence…or the official reports released by the Mexican government. Or the Belgians…
The fact the we are not alone in the universe is the most important issue of our time – but most supposedly smart people aren’t even interested. Because they’re not progressive and they don’t have open minds. They REFUSE to think for themselves, or even research the subject.
Besides, the REAL science on this planet is highly classified and will never see the light of day. That is a fact of life in the Intel community – where I dwell on the outskirts. The really incredible scientific breakthroughs are a matter of ‘national security’ in the USA.
Stuff like free energy, anti-gravity. Teleportation. Time travel, even. I live near Kirtland AFB in New Mexico, which is home to Sandia Labs, and I can tell you I have heard they are working on some incredible shit out there which is hundreds if not thousands of years ahead of mainstream science. So if we have anti-gravity technology and have managed to find a way to go faster than light, imagine what a civilization perhaps a million years ahead of us can do…
Our own earthbound scientists now readily admit that there are BILLIONS of inhabitable planets in the known universe. Even with our obsolete technology, over 300 planets have been discovered which can support life. How much of a stretch could it possibly be to accept that many of them are also inhabited? We are just waiting for that announcement to be made.
Not so long ago, scientists who spoke of these things were considered heretics and exiled or locked away by the Catholic Church…or burned at the stake. Now it’s the Scientists who get to mock and berate the religious communities for their folly in ‘believing’ or ‘having faith in something that may or may not be there!’ Gotcha!
But look: there is bacteria on my eyelashes which I can’t see – they live there. Got some in my colon, too. Bacteria lives in the deepest parts of the ocean, under miles of ice in Antarctica, and bacteria has been found in lead melted at 400c. Now that’s hot!
If it can float, stick to a rock, or find a hair to inhabit, it will thrive.
The idea that we are alone in the universe is an arrogant and insular delusion that is patently absurd. The truly mind boggling size of the universe alone, together with its almost infinite capacity for life, would absolutely preclude such a possibility. Factually, based on Kepler telescope observations, it is now estimated that there are up to 19,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars similar to ours in the universe, with at least one planet similar to Earth. Hence the statistical odds on there NOT being other life forms in the universe is a modest 19,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 to 1 against!
By extrapolation therefore, it can logically be concluded that the universe is teeming with life forms; a small number of whom no doubt visit us on a regular basis. That global governments have a vested interest in denying the existence of extra-terrestrial life is undeniable – but the overwhelming number of incidents reported globally of documented phenomena (including the infamous cover-up at Roswell) exposes the fallacy of all the official denials and rebuttals.
Manifestly, we are not alone.
Officially, according to those vested interests, we have no real understanding of what’s out there. Scientists readily admit they have no idea what half the universe is made of (dark matter, they call it…) Unofficially of course, we know there is plenty of life out there. NASA knows it. Other countries know it. Alien life forms have been visiting us for a very long time. The COMETA report from France is not bogged down with the US and UK’s efforts to keep a lid on everything. Look outside those two countries, and information is much easier to find.
To say that we are alone in this Universe is madness…or utter stupidity.
