In truth, Russian and Israeli state meddling in the 2016 US elections doesn’t hold a candle to all the actual coups and “regime changes” perpetrated by our own intelligence agencies all over the world since 1947. The USA staged coups against virtually every progressive government that emerged since WWII.

The list is long and growing, including: Iran, Guatemala, Congo, Iraq, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile, South Vietnam, Bolivia, Grenada, Afghanistan, Somalia, Haiti; and most recently, the Ukraine. The US openly meddled in the Russian elections in 1996, when the CIA pumped millions of dollars into the campaign coffers of the drunken buffoon Boris Yeltsin.

Foreign election hacking is small potatoes considering how many legitimate, democratically elected governments the CIA has actually overthrown.

No one died as a result of Russia’s cyber-attack – but many thousands have died at the hands of the US imperialists.

Our so-called intelligence agencies don’t really protect us from anything. Their primary mission is corporate spying on behalf of US multinationals. That’s why they seem to always be on the back-foot during international crises. They killed a sitting American president and covered it up; they lied about the Gulf of Tonkin in order to start the Viet Nam War; they failed to predict the collapse the Soviet Union; they failed to protect the nation from 9/11 (which they were actually complicit in…); they lied about WMDs in Iraq; failed to protect the country from cyber-attacks...etc…

Over the years, the only thing the CIA has managed to accomplish with any success is regime change – and in every case, “US interests” involved overthrowing democratically elected, progressive, left-leaning governments and replacing them with right-wing despots friendly to those “interests” (i.e., free, unfettered free markets). It never ends well [examples above]. 

The CIA, NSA and DoD routinely meddle in global affairs. They spy on world leaders 24/7 – including our allies – and they have interfered in thousands of elections worldwide, including Russia’s own elections in 1996 as previously mentioned. The US has invaded countries at will with little or no legal justification, and along with NATO, has placed nuclear missiles on Russia’s western border – in contravention of explicit promises that the former Russian Republics would not become part of NATO.

Serves them right for trusting America!

More examples? Until 1974, the FBI was run by the racist, fascist, misogynist, closeted homosexual J. Edgar Hoover, who was anything but a patriot. He did everything in his power to subvert democracy in America. He hated blacks; he hated Civil Rights; he hated immigrants; he hated women; and we all know he loathed “communists” – most of which were non-existent. He also REALLY hated JFK and RFK, and he worked against the policies of the President of the United States and the Attorney General when the Kennedy brothers were in charge. He spied on and infiltrated Civil Rights groups and anti-war organizations under the pretext that they were infiltrated by communists

The Mob had been blackmailing Hoover since the late 1930s over his secret gay lifestyle, so he refused to acknowledge the MAFIA was even a thing, lest he be exposed.

Hoover was the epitome of a ‘National Security risk!’

Through his inaction, he gave rise to the explosion of organized crime across the USA.

Keeping America safe was supposedly the primary mission of the FBI. Hoover compromised the nation’s security because of his fear of being exposed for his hidden lifestyle. That is treason, straight up. J. Edgar Hoover’ reign was a black mark on our history, yet he is venerated as some kind of an American hero. Go figure.

The sad fact is, none of America’s intelligence agencies can be trusted. Ever. About ANYTHING. There’s not a single party involved in this sordid episode that I trust even a little bit, and I find it odd that so many supposed “progressives” seem to be cheering on the CIA and FBI in this case. It confirms the fact that Americans lack any sense of historical context.

Additionally, it is an acknowledged fact that US Intel has the capability to hack into any server anywhere on the planet AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE ACTIONS OF A HOSTILE NATION. Few other countries have this capability, if any. In the highly-compartmentalized environment of US Intel, it is possible this cyber-attack was perpetrated from the inside.

Still, people need to come to terms with the fact that the US is a highly militaristic, authoritarian nation which has spread genocide, death and mayhem across the globe since its inception. We’re not bombing and destroying hapless nations to bring freedom and democracy to anybody: we do it for the corporations which rule America and the world. We bully and intimidate sovereign nations in order to destabilize them and steal their natural resources for Geopolitical gain.

The USA has been in a permanent state of war for more than two decades now. The “War on Terror” is inherently permanent because there is no remotely definable endpoint, and there’s no one to surrender to or declare peace. It does away with the cost, inconvenience, and risk of having to keep coming up with “false flag” operations to justify it all.

Meanwhile, the American public – brainwashed as always – couldn’t care less. As long as they have their shiny new objects and trinkets to play with, the US can murder, destroy, violate its own laws and commit global genocide with total impunity. Only when enough Americans realize that their government is the real enemy will they ever have a chance of breaking free from this deeply pathological system.

The GOP/DNC rivalry is nothing but Kabuki Theater while the empire relentlessly marches on – leaving chaos and devastation in its wake, irrespective of whose name is on the Oval Office door. The difference is purely stylistic: smooth talk vs tough talk; covert vs overt arrogance; predation vs militarism.

It’s perfectly legal for a Russian oligarch or a Saudi prince or an Iranian Imam or George Soros or the Kochs or even Satan himself to create a Super PAC through a proxy, which then funnels cash from offshore bank accounts, where no one can trace it.

Citizen’s United – the total deregulation of American campaign finance rules – made all that possible. Anyone, anywhere – even hostile governments – can funnel millions of dollars into US campaigns in total secrecy. That is the “law” of the land.

Money is speech in America. Russian money can be converted into US speech just as easily as all the drug dealers, double-agents and money launderer’s money can. That’s what Citizen’s United did.

Having a totally wrong idea about what America really represents makes it easy for grifters like tRump to steal power by flogging ridiculous fantasies like the myth that everyone will be better off if we cut taxes on the already obscenely wealthy.

It’s also why Trump is president; except for the fact that that his handlers had to pull out all the stops to get him elected by cheating in every way possible.

Putin is holding the videotaped evidence of the whole perverted pee-pee affair, and he’s blackmailing Trump by threatening to release the entire 6-volume set if the “president” doesn’t play ball. Trump must be terrified; not just because it might invalidate his prenuptial agreement with Melanoma, but also because he fears losing the support of his right wing evangelical base who are already growing tired of his antics. But frankly, based on past experience I doubt that it will even matter.

The first step in fixing a problem is to recognize that you have a problem – and unfortunately many Americans are in strident denial. Americans are easily manipulated by the use and abuse of rhetoric. Having mastered the Mussolini jaw thrust, Trump accurately represents America unmasked, exposing how close the whole rotten structure is to collapse.
