The ‘War on Terror’ Has Utterly Failed – Global Terrorism Has Dramatically Increased Since 9/11 

In the 17 years since the events of Sept. 11, 2001 – after which the United States declared a “global war on terror,” there has not been a terrorist attack of similar size or magnitude on American soil. However, according to findings in a new Congressionally mandated report by the United States Institute of Peace—authored by members of a federal task force focused on extremism—nations around the world have suffered a five-fold increase in terrorist attacks following the post-9/11 policies unleashed by the U.S. and its allies.

To call this result predictable would be an understatement. And who knew there was a UNITED STATES INSTITUTE OF PEACE’ for chrissake? That’s something you don’t hear about every day…not in America, anyway. Since when in the last fifty years has the US government ever consulted with them?

Be that as it may, the stated goal of the “War On Terror” hasn’t been met because clearly that was never the goal. The real goal was simply to create global chaos and political destabilization. We have only begun to see the results of this hugely successful strategy playing itself out. Now we have the proof.

The US is in the business of creating enemies in order to justify its highly profitable war machine. In America, war is business and business is war and business is very good thank you very much.

You see, the War On Terror hasn’t been a failure at all, my friend. Oh, no – indeed it has been a complete and total success! Because of course the purpose of the never ending War on Terror was never even remotely about winning ANYTHING. That’s why George W. Bush declared “mission accomplished” within weeks of the beginning of what would turn out to be the largest terror campaign ever undertaken by the US War Machine. There was no ‘pacification’ plan in Iraq or any intent of winning ‘hearts and minds.’ This level of utter incompetence by the so-called ‘World’s Greatest Fighting Force’ can only be put down to careful planning.

There was no ‘post-invasion’ plan in Iraq because the MIC planners: a) never considered the Iraqis humans and thus didn’t give a shit what happened to them; and b) they intended to just let the country implode into anarchy for the huge profits to be had from all the chaos. It was more about initiating the metastatic global war for resources. Genocide and misery on that scale requires a whole lot of guns & ammo.

The War On Terror, like the War On Drugs, like “Trickle-Down” economics; like the all the tax-cuts for the rich and the deregulation of everything: everything the Republicans have done since the beginning of the fucking Reagan Revolution 40 years ago was intended to further enrich the entrenched right-wing corporatists in the MIC and Wall Street, funded by their friends the Saudis, with help from the Israelis and the Russians – who essentially own the government now.

Like, “Gee, who could have seen this coming..?”

I’ll tell you who. The myriad interconnected corporate/state entities which specifically planned for this indefinite war, that’s who! They certainly saw it coming, since they created it.

And so of course what does this “administration” do to discredit its own study on the rise of terrorism? Release another FAKE study showing a 27 percent drop in terror attacks! Classic.

Boy, those Trumpanzees sure are a hoot. They never give up, do they?

The Military Industrial Complex that Eisenhower warned us about in 1960 has become even bigger and more nefarious than he could ever have imagined. That is what creates and perpetuates these wars. Along with our imperialistic foreign policy, there’s the greed of the defense contractors and munitions makers whose shareholders demand the constant flow of profit and human misery that war brings.

Under this current predatory  system, we will probably never know another day of peace.
