America’s next moon landing will be made by private corporations — not NASA. That is the proud declaration of NASA head Jim Bridenstine. But while the mainstream media (MSM) applauds this “cool” concept as the wave of the future, it should be regarded as a huge step backward for our nation.
Sure, private corporations such as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Boeing can afford to step in and fill in the funding gaps. But by contracting out to these weapons manufacturers who already rake in hundreds of Billions a year on defense contracts, NASA is taking what little above-board government funding they’ve got left (after massive budget cuts over the last fifty years…) and signing multi-million dollar contracts with the same death merchants who refuse to pay any corporate taxes!
Bridenstine recently announced that nine U.S. companies will compete to deliver experiments to the lunar surface. The space agency will buy the service and let private industry work out the details on getting there, he said. That is the sad reality of our current space program, such as it is. It’s appalling, really.
So in other words, NASA has abdicated its role in space exploration on behalf of “all mankind” to a select group of defense contractors – who will no doubt bill the taxpayers for the inevitable enormous cost over-runs and fraud, and they will most certainly be several years behind schedule.
Only Russian oligarchs and billionaires like Bezos and Gates and Branson will have the luxury of space travel on behalf of mankind now. At least in America. Unless there is something to kill or blow up, the MSM isn’t interested anymore. Our “government” is covertly pumping most of its resources into the ‘Black Budget’ – i.e., the secret space program – and other increasingly exotic technologies such as quantum computing, time-travel, faster-than-light technology and teleportation. A lot of this work is being done at Sandia Labs and Los Alamos, right here in New Mexico. But we aren’t supposed to know that…
The European Space Agency, India, China, Russia, Germany and Japan are among the nations planning to return humans to the moon in the near future. America on the other hand is planning to send only extremely wealthy people.
We are falling further behind the rest of the world in overt technology because in the USA we aren’t allowed to have good things. The elite just don’t trust us because they’ve dumbed down the population so much we wouldn’t know what to do with it, anyway. We’d destroy everything and it simply wouldn’t be worth the investment. That is literally how our leaders view us. And it’s unfortunately true for the most part: the general public can’t be trusted to adhere to even the most basic societal standards.
We are little more than a pack of wild animals in America compared to those in the civilized world.
Americans don’t deserve stuff like clean energy, free wireless, quality health care or mass transit…or any infrastructure at all, basically. Certainly nothing of quality, or cutting edge. That’s for the rich folks.
All of our overt technology is being used to subjugate humanity at home and abroad; certainly not for the benefit of “all mankind.” The MIC (Military-Industrial complex) gave up on that charade a long time ago. NASA – which, despite the “Civilian” label – is actually managed by the Department of Defense. It’s merely a front; the friendly PR Neil De Grasse Tyson face of our supposedly cutting-edge science. They are a cover for the real scientific advances being created in the black programs.
In 2019 we’re supposed to believe that the greatest superpower on Earth doesn’t even have the capability to launch people into orbit, 50 years after the first moon landing! No, we have to rely on 40 year-old Russian Soyuz rockets to get our astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). We have no option but to use their launch facilities in Kazakhstan.
I mean, seriously? They expect us to believe that?
NASA’s Jim Bridenstine said it will be up to private corporations to arrange their own rocket rides. NASA will be one of multiple customers using these lunar “services.” The obvious take away from this is that the USA isn’t in the business of building ROCKETS anymore (we’ve moved on to far better stuff…shhh, don’t tell anyone!)
Humans were born to explore and seek adventure, but the dreams of exploring space or living on the moon, the exploration of the ocean floor and the preservation of our natural habitat have all but been crushed by the global elite.
I am 56 years old now but the dreams of my youth and my teenage years – like many others – have been demolished and instead they have been filled with wars of aggression, fake terrorism and an economy based on selling weapons of mass destruction to anyone willing to pay; a news cycle based on celebrity worship and peddling dangerous pharmaceuticals; a fast food industry designed to slowly kill its consumers; a totally unregulated economy…and above all, an out of control and deeply entrenched MIC hell bent on creating a global police state. We’re supposed to trust these guys to be the sole driving force in space?!!
The commercial space projects by billionaires like Elon Musk, Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos are really about creating a way out for the elite 1% who plan to escape to Mars or some other inhabitable planet and leave the rest of us to suffer on a dying, warring planet.
The space travel companies say they are merely exploring a means for the human species to endure by populating other planets. But they are only talking about a small portion of the human species, who can afford to fly on Virgin Galactic or Space X. The bottom line is that only the wealthy will have the means to move off planet.
And imagine all the new outfits you’ll have to buy to go along with that PRADA space helmet…
If you look at how little the US government invests in NASA, it’s safe to say that they’re treating it the same way as they treat public transit. There’s no money for them and their cronies to be made out of it, so fuck it. We don’t need no stinking PUBLIC nothing…
But talk about ways to privatize space travel and suddenly you see the dollar signs appear over their heads and their eyes start to light up. Suddenly, they’re all in.
People should be outraged about NASA’s plans to let defense contractors run our space program. We should not be celebrating, despite what the MSM says. This is the end of America’s advantage in space exploration. From now on it will be in proprietary, unregulated, profit-driven hands.
It is a bad idea to privatize our space program and sell it to the highest bidder. But don’t tell that to the American people. They just don’t know any better.
