For the past 60-plus years, the USA has attached its currency to petroleum, and more recently, natural gas.

Ever since President Nixon took America off the Gold Standard in 1972, the USA has been on the Oil Standard [“Petro dollars”]. The key to the dollar being the reserve currency of the world is OIL, plain and simple. When your currency is the global reserve currency, you can control the world economy through financial means. This is what the US has been doing since the 1970s with our Military Industrial Complex [MIC] in concert with the economic hit men from Wall Street.

The reason the US invaded Iraq in 1992 had nothing to do with humanitarian reasons or imaginary chemical weapons or nukes. Iraq was targeted for destruction because Saddam Hussein tried to use Euros instead of Petrodollars. The MIC swooped into action and the troops were sent in. Same with Qaddafi in Libya. Same with Venezuela, today…

IT’S THE OIL, STUPID!

Global finances would be quite different in a world powered by renewable energy.

If the global community stopped using US dollars as the reserve currency, America would basically be a third world country. The power of the US dollar is evident by the fact that everyone on Earth uses oil. But now that’s coming to an end. It’s not surprising that the US economy is absolutely tanking at the same time.

It’s truly remarkable to see how quickly and how completely Trump has managed to utterly betray his white trash base – as well as all the working Americans who didn’t fall for his scam.

The people who own the country – the economic elite, the so-called 1% – live vastly different lives from the average American. Most Americans are satisfied with a decent job and a family and a place to live. The elite on the other hand are NEVER satisfied; they always want more: more money, more wealth, more power; more underage prostitutes. Whatever it is, it’s never enough…

The world for them is a zero-sum game. They want war: Americans generally want peace. Our Rulers demand conflict and discord: Americans prefer cooperation. Guess who wins this argument?

But see: this is the kind of vacuous, worthless society which unfettered capitalism promotes. Only the most corrupt and avaricious rise to the top.

The 1% will do everything in their power to make sure Americans never hear about the alternatives to their totally unjust and unequal economic system, which enriches the few at the expense of the many. Our government is essentially owned by the billionaires and their ilk. They look for every corrupt, underhanded method they can legislate, and they always succeed.

Because you know, as the fake economists will tell you, we just don’t have the money to rebuild America’s infrastructure. To do that, we need more revenue, and to increase revenues we need to…you know…cut taxes for the billionaires again, of course!
