It turns out that all men who have the slightest bit of power abuse it. Duh. Men are scum!

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Modern society is still dominated by the 5,000-year-old ‘Warrior’ culture which has been passed down through families for centuries from father to son to son to son. It spreads like a cancer into the private sector and the secret organizations, Think Tanks and quasi-governmental conglomerates where power is distributed hierarchically; just like in the military.

All ruled by men, of course.

Since bullying and aggression is rewarded in such a male-dominated, ultra-competitive environment as ours, it’s no surprise to find bullies and thugs rewarded for their deeds by the ruling class. Throughout history, women – and the ineffable powers they undoubtedly possess – have been reduced to the role of slaves and prizes in warrior societies. Thus, women will seemingly remain victims as long as we allow these ancient, regressive forms of human activity to persist.

I was lucky enough to grow up in a family with strong women who were cherished role models, healers and nurturers. Thanks to them and other women I have known in my life, I can honestly say that I respect a woman’s opinion far more than most men.

Because most men don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about, let’s be honest.

I never wanted to join the Boy Scouts or any of that shit when I was growing up. I didn’t want to play team sports or join the military or anything that involved any amount of time hanging out in a locker room and potentially showering with a bunch of naked men. Why would I want to hang out with a bunch of smelly, disgusting guys, anyway? I don’t enjoy being forced to look at naked men in any context.

Women are much more fun to hang out with; fully clothed…or naked.  

I had two brothers growing up, so I confess that perhaps my view of women is a little skewed as far as the mystery and the awe of femininity is concerned. But the point is that at an early age I learned to respect and honor and cherish women because they served such an important role in my life. There was never an age when I started “liking” girls.

I always liked girls.

Women made me the man I am today. The women I’ve known have for the most part been smarter, funnier, stronger, and they have demonstrated far more bravery in the face of adversity than the men in my life.

But think about it: if men started treating women as true partners and equals instead of rivals or subordinates it might be the greatest positive evolutionary change in the world…and for world peace in general.

But I’m not getting my hopes up.

Some women have an unfortunate tendency to participate in their own oppression, like all of those poor PTSD’d women who voted for a self-confessed sexual predator as President of the United States. Sadly, in the Western world, so much misogyny comes not just from men, but from female enablers as well.

Millions of American women are sexually abused every day. Sexual harassment, and the systemic abuse of women, is widespread in academia, the arts, business, sports, journalism, the “entertainment” industry; the halls of government(!) – in all walks of life, everywhere, all the time.

Whenever men are in charge, women are exploited and abused. Go figure.

It would also seem that for some reason a lot of men are absolutely TERRIFIED of women…and they express this fear in strange ways.

This problem seems to have its roots in the Western European history of America. All sorts of negative, repressive religious sects and fundamentalist cults were sent here or gravitated to these shores with puritanical, judgmental evangelical streams of religious belief which have left America extremely sexually repressed. This seems to be the underlying theme of US popular culture: hypocrisy as a way of life.

Of course, sexual energy will still find ways to express itself, even in sexually repressive societies.

Most organized religions were invented by men as an extremely effective tool to subjugate, enslave and control women. In the Bible, females are created solely for the benefit of men. A man’s right to expect that females will serve his needs and desires is established literally on page two of the Bible in the book of Genesis, for fuck’s sake!

And don’t get me started on Islam: like what, they believe men are such debased animals that the mere sight of a woman’s skin will send them into an uncontrollable raping frenzy or something? WTF? Talk about sexist…

When people are not allowed to have normal healthy sexual expressions we end up with the current situation we have in the USA. It is truly sad that a country with such potential has found itself a victim of its own puritanical origins. How we get out of it will require a very long period of soul searching and therapy…

Too bad Americans don’t have the wherewithal to bite the bullet and do what is necessary. Most likely eventually it will all be swept under the rug, everyone will put on their fake smiles and agree that we just need to “move forward” – and that will be the end of it.

The reason that sexist abuse of women carries so little gravity among men is because of the undeniable disparity of social power. Men have been socialized to make light of sexual aggression and physical differences in such a way as to dehumanize them by regarding women as body parts instead of a whole person.

But imagine if we all stopped cooperating with these assholes or covering for their serial abusers, whether in the family, on the job or in the local community…Because that’s what needs to happen.
