Oh, poor baby tRump. Why is everybody so mean to him? It’s not like he’s ever insulted anyone ever in his life. He’s just so nice to everyone…and for some reason celebrities and world leaders and former staff members want to make fun of him.

The relentless victimhood that the “president” creates for himself is truly a marvel to  behold.

I’m sure every racist in America is feeling completely victimized and emboldened, just like tRump. And it’s not about getting an apology for mean statements from the “fake news” – it’s about feeling like a victim, because Umerka is too “Politically Correct” and won’t allow him to tell the “obvious scientific fact” that black people are not fully evolved…

Fake news: this is one of those subjects where you want to be able to stridently defend the “free” press…but you just can’t. Yes, truly responsible journalism must be fair and credible and accurate. The idea that tRump or any president could limit their freedom is abhorrent and undemocratic. But US journalists by and large do not fall into any of the above categories.

I wish I could say that I believe in the actual free press, rather than simply the “idea” or the “principle” of one. It would make a much better argument if the press actually DID tell the truth more often, and if the tRump cult didn’t actually have a valid case about “fake news.”

We have NEVER had a ‘free press’ in Umerka.

The only true ‘free’ press we have left are the free local weeklies which still exist in some big cities. But they are a dying breed and few and far between.

You think industrialist assholes like William Randolph Hearst and Henry Luce or Ted Turner or Rupert Murdoch ever gave a shit about a “free” press? That was the last thing they wanted. The media in Umerka has since its very inception been controlled by wealthy industrialists who always had some right wing agenda to push. The New York Times might lean to the left superficially, but investigative reporter Bob Woodward exposed the NYT as the “CIA’s newspaper” in Rolling Stone forty years ago.

Think Sinclair Media. Think the National Enquirer. Owned by…what’s his name? Thats’ right: David PECKER(!!)…In any case, most local newspapers and news outlets today are controlled by right wing screwballs who are actively trying to make us more stupid.

And they are succeeding beyond their wildest dreams.

The fact that tRump is a pathological liar himself doesn’t justify the lame-ass US media telling untruths, either by commission or omission or obfuscation. The MSM has been the lap dog of the government for decades, relentlessly beating the drums of war and Umerkin exceptionalism to the exclusion of far more existential threats to our safety.

What about the grotesque misuse of military power around the world? All we seem be doing is creating more enemies. How many nightly news reports do you see about Yemen or Syria or Nigeria or the Congo…or Israel…? We have troops crawling all over Africa and the only time you hear about it is when someone dies.

But of course, that’s the plan.

The MSM caters to this indifference because corporate Umerka doesn’t care about quality; they care about viewership. Numbers are down. What’s wrong with this picture? The true purpose of network TV is to reinforce the programming – not to inform or educate. Or even entertain, for that matter; fuck! The sitcoms and bachelors and talent shows are merely filler for all the prescription DRUG commercials and cars and local news and beer and more drug commercials. “Ask your doctor.” I want the one with rare lymphoma as one of the side effects!

The corporate propaganda spewed into the average household every day is what is most important to the tRump supporters: that 40-45 percent of the country must receive the Völkischer Beobachter every single day. They’re addicted to it.

It is simply counterproductive to pretend that tRrump’s lies are the reason for wanting to “Make Truth Great Again.” To achieve that we would need to open a huge can of worms – and a lot of Congressional investigations.
