I was not disappointed. As dysfunctional as the UK’s government is, it is clear that they at least pretend to care about their citizens and their democracy and their culture…unlike the USA, which is openly contemptuous of its own people.
London is the center of a truly multi-cultural society, encompassing hundreds of cultures and value systems. It’s weird in a lot of ways, but the people seemed very accepting and respectful of diversity. At least in the city…
Everyone who served us, no matter where we went, was either Pakistani, Indian, Sri Lankan, Russian, Romanian or Georgian or German or Italian…even our ‘traditional’ Fish & Chips was fried up by an Estonian…I don’t think Brits actually do any work!
Never saw so many Burqas – Muslim women covered head to toe in black with just the eye slits in 68-degree weather…crazy…and really quite jarring.
But London is a vibrant, multicultural society – not like in the US where we pretend to be diverse. Black people are like, regular citizens there. People respect diversity.
Everyone has nice cars in London. We saw one vehicle with a dent – I’m totally serious – and that was a delivery truck. We didn’t see any crappy Camaros or Trans Ams or Mustangs or Buicks or Oldsmobiles with a a fender missing or a different color door stuck on the side….not one red plastic brake light hanging off the back or a cracked front windshield…not one single stinking VINYL TOP to be seen. No one is dumb enough to buy that shit, anyway.
There was a Maserati SUV in St. John’s Wood, for fuck’s sake! Only maybe in LA would you see that in the states.
Umerkins have no idea how many really cool vehicles we will never have access to in the land of the free. Peugeots, Lamborghinis, Citroens, Renaults, Vauxhalls, Skodas, Lancias…Mercedes and BMW models we’ll never see – everywhere! Fords, Hondas, Toyotas and GM products we can’t get in the states…because…well, I don’t know why! Oh wait – most of them were electric. We walked past a charging station on the way to the Tube.
I fucking LOVED the Tube. What was really incrdible was watching women try to put on makeup as we careened violently through the tunnels at 90MPH…literally inches from the wall. Amazing!
Where is public transportation in the States? Literally going down the tubes. It’s virtually non-existent.
There are a shit-ton of everyday products like electronics, groceries, over the counter meds and other stuff available over there that most Umerkins have never even heard of.
We will never know how much great stuff we aren’t allowed to have. If we’re talking sheer volume of products – not only do we have THE WORST of everything in the states – we have so little of it.
And yet we’ve been brainwashed to believe we have the best of everything…when we got nothing, folks. Nothing but CRAP. Everything is a product or a commercial for another crappy product. Do Umerkins even notice how saturated every aspect of their lives is by fucking adverts? No wonder so many people have A.D.D. How can you concentrate on anything when everything is broken up into 3-minute sound bites? It’s all just filler between the commercials, anyway.
And besides, the average Joe wouldn’t know quality if it smacked him in the face. Most Umerkins outright REJECT quality, frankly…
The USA is even trying to force Britain and the EU to lower their standards on meat imports so that Umerkin ranchers can sell Europeans the tainted, chemically saturated, unhealthy meat Umerkins eat – to people in the civilized world. But they aren’t buying it…yet. Give the globalists time.
Fascist apologists are a dime a dozen.
Soon everyone’s standards will be as low as Umerka’s. It’s good for business, I guess. The inhumane treatment of animals is cheaper than doing the right thing. Or giving up meat.
Everyone in London wore stylish clothes – 14 million people and nobody was walking around in sweats or flip-flops or pajamas. Very few baseball caps, and not one Budweiser T-shirt. Hardly any obese people to be found. Didn’t see any really fat people until we arrived back home in Denver.
Got to see some of the most famous museums in the world – The British Museum, The Imperial War Museum, Victoria & Albert, etc., ALL FREE!!
It’s like, 30 bucks to get into a museum in Chicago, for chrissake.
There are thousands of newspapers printed daily in London, in hundreds of languages. Printed; hard copies on real news print. Because you see, access to information is important in a free society. Unlike Umerka, where printed media is in its final death throes – and most people get their news from their phones. Yes, Britain has the Daily Mail and the paparazzi, but at least it is a highly literate society. You certainly can’t say the same thing about this godforsaken place.
The mainstream media in the US is basically mind control. There really is nothing but fake news. tRump is right about that, at least.
See, they just don’t trust us with the good stuff in Umerka. Because we’re irresponsible, reckless, blinded by greed and religion and we’ve been infantilized since birth. Most Umerkins have had their tastes, morals and values dictated by a bunch of regressive, moronic religious fanatics. It has been thus since our founding patriarchs were exiled from civil society because they refused to accept that people were free to make their own decisions.
The fucking pilgrims were intolerant religious assholes who thought western civilization was too permissive and free for their tastes. And so it continues to this day. The Umerkin people can’t be trusted to make our own decisions, so we’re shielded from temptation – whether we like it or not.
It’s pretty galling that so many things are censored and restricted or simply unavailable in the USA. And most of us are totally unaware of it unless we’ve been overseas…
Our society – especially our access to media – is just as closed and repressed as China or Russia or Saudi Arabia. All of the freedoms we think we still have are under threat now, in any case. Net neutrality is going away; the NEA and anything having to do with art or culture or education are being actively defunded. Our culture is toxic.
Don’t forget: in the USA we banned an instrumental song for obscenity (“Rumble” by Link Wray).
WE BURNED BEATLES RECORDS IN GIGANTIC BONFIRES because John Lennon said The Beatles were more popular than Jesus!
Never forget. Never. Ever.
And then there’s Naked Attraction.
(more on that in the next post…)
