Come to think of it, Adolf Hitler believed in something, too. Quite fervently, if memory serves. It was something really fucking awful, but he sure as hell believed in it. So did enough other people…

But this is what’s to be expected from our hypocritical, morally bankrupt culture where “Christian Values” means removing from society all temptation from everything, combined with an amoral, brutally enforced obliviousness to the world around us. In America, the people who believe in holy ghosts and sky fairies are running the show now. They sure as hell believe in something, too…

It may be something really dumb, but as long as you believe the same shit they do, you’re okay.

And that is another failure of our lame ass society because, yes: it really does matter what people believe. We share our living space with them. Their decisions and beliefs affect all of us, oh yes, they do!

Donald Trump’s followers believe that his most profound worldly mission is to destroy the evil ones in hellfire as a sacrifice to their moron god. Those people hate us, and they want us all to die.

It’s clear that progressive voters seriously underestimated the degree to which America’s over-riding passion is HATE: hatred for poor people; hatred for people of color; hatred for women and LGBTQ people; hatred for the disabled and the old; hatred for immigrants; hatred for the environment; hatred for non-Christians; hatred of Obama and Biden…

All of these various hatreds and revulsions are becoming codified through Executive Orders and via national, state and local edicts.

For instance, we are currently facing an existential crisis due to Climate Change – but after generations of people believing in whatever the fuck they want…surprise! We’re in serious trouble. Does it really seem like a good idea to have a society full of people who pray for Armageddon daily?

No wonder those Evangelical fuckers don’t care about the environment: IT’S ALL GONNA BURN, ANYWAY!!!

I think it’s time we maybe started to re-think the idea that magical thinking is OK.

But a lot of people still find it hard to accept that 77 million Americans voted for a mentally retarded racist, sexist, xenophobic sociopath for president. So there you go.

Progressives amuse me.  Where did all of that LIVING IN DENIAL get us? It got us into this huge fucking mess, that’s what.

But hey: as long as people believe in something we should be okay with that. I guess.

Meanwhile, plans for the extinction of The Human Race are reaching a critical stage.
