The USA: a nation run by corporations, by and for their profits.
Has there ever in history been a country so contemptuous of its own people? For fuck’s sake.
This is what unshackled capitalism looks like. Money doesn’t talk anymore in America, it screams.
Human kindness and empathy probably still exist in the hearts of most normal people who are just struggling to get by in America. But avarice, greed, and grotesque criminality flourishes at the very top, ensuring enormous wealth for the few – and grinding poverty for millions at the bottom of the heap.
Bear in mind that 56% of adult Americans are semi-literate and incapable of reading more than simple sentences with short words. A complete book is totally beyond their comprehension. Half of Americans don’t have passports, and they are profoundly ignorant about the outside world. This combination of crass stupidity and crippling xenophobia is why repugnant people like Trump and his cronies have the country in their thrall. A Trump-like creature emerging from this ghastly cocktail had to happen one day. It was inevitable.
But the even more depressing reality is that it’s really not Donald Trump driving any of this.
It’s the people who OWN Trump who are really running the show: The establishment; the REAL deep estate. Trump is simply a puppet; a temporary employee and a useful idiot, more than happy to carry out the vile Project 2025 agenda.
The US political system has ceded power to corporate and financial interests over many decades, with no consideration given to regular working people or the community at large. Our political system was compromised long before Trump arrived, and the Democrats bear just as much responsibility for allowing this to happen. They never offered more than lip service to the interests of the average American.
The Democratic Party leadership is currently in no position to make any difference with its incredibly poor leaders Chuck Schumer in Congress and Hakeem Jeffries in the House. Both of whom seem incapable of mounting any kind of effective opposition. They both also appear to be hostage to external influences [Israel..].
Trump is clearly a moron; especially when it comes to global affairs. As a result of this he often says incredibly stupid things. But it seems he genuinely believes what he says at any given moment. Later, when his handlers have reviewed the implications of his rambling, incoherent statements, they will brief him and point him in the direction they want him to go.
He is just a sad, bitter, confused old man who is now so far out of his depth he has no real idea that he is being manipulated, or how ridiculous he has become.
But in Iran, Trump is doing exactly what most American presidents have done in the past, ironically enough starting with Iran in 1953, when the USA and Britain overthrew the government of Mosaddeq and replaced him with the Shah. Moving on to Cuba, Vietnam, Indonesia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and most recently Venezuela…and probably Cuba again very soon!
The USA will be invading Greenland as well. You can crypto bet on it. Don’t kid yourself. The Nazis called it Lebensraum [“living space”]. This is part of an all-out, winner take all battle for global resources with our sworn enemies, China and Russia.
The tragedy of the country electing a man so poorly equipped for high office will forever scar the image of the USA. Like the Civil War, he has divided the country and set it upon itself. But worse than that, he doesn’t even claim the right to break the Union, but to destroy it altogether and place it under the heel of Militant Christian Nationalism. His madness and self-aggrandizing have now drawn the entire world into the maelstrom of his malignant character.
Professor John Mearsheimer recently called out the crimes being committed by Trump and Netanyahu in Iran as the same crimes which the Nazi leadership was hanged for at Nuremberg: aggressive war, annexation of foreign territory, deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure, and collective punishment.
The Nuremberg Tribunal called the crime of aggression the “supreme international crime”— the one that “contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole”— because that is the crime which makes all the other crimes possible.
To simply stand by at this point and do nothing is to abandon our own humanity.
These demons must be stopped, by whatever means necessary.
