A solution to the homeless problem

The homeless problem in America is getting out of hand. They are ubiquitous in every major city in the country. Entire families are being forced to live on the street. Working people who can’t afford to rent but are stuck with a monthly car payment are living out of their cars in gigantic “safe-parking” zones.

And as usual, we have collectively refused to acknowledge the severity of the crisis, and instead we’ve tried to simply ignore the problem until it’s too late. It’s the American way.

Step 1: Create an evil system that requires inflicting endless economic hardships upon working people;

Step 2: Refuse to establish a livable wage;

Step 3: Keep a certain number of homeless people on the street as an example to those who might protest too much about THE SYSTEM.

On a related matter: so like, how come I never see any homeless people camped out on CHURCH PROPERTY? You’d think that would be the first place the homeless would go for shelter, right?

Somehow I don’t see any of those MEGA-CHURCHES – or any churches or synagogues or mosques, for that matter – rushing to open their doors to house the homeless.  WTF is up with that? Is there some unspoken law that you can’t depend on church leaders to actually help or sacrifice in any substantive way to solve the problem…even temporarily?

Isn’t that, oh I don’t know – totally antithetical to what that whole wacky “religion” thing is supposed to be all about? Isn’t THAT what Jebus would do? From what I understand, Jebus would welcome the poor and downtrodden into His home…would He not?

Is it some kind of legal or insurance issue? So what? They don’t pay any taxes; they can goddam well afford it…

All that ‘love your fellow man’ crap rings pretty hollow when you look at it that way. Yet another fallacy of “Christianity” exposed before the eyes of the world…surprise!

There’s a goddam church at the end of my street, and I’ve never seen anyone given shelter on their property.

If they can’t be housed in temporary shelters, that is where the homeless belong.

At least a few of the local churches have periodic food drives. Oddly enough, it’s rarely the rich, white MEGA-CHURCHES that do food giveaways. Go figure.

And of course all those Jebus–loving MAGA White folks just don’t think it’s fair that we should give shelter or care to those “deadbeats who don’t pay taxes…” Because of course all those homeless people are just too lazy to work.

That’s the kinda stuff “good” Christians believe, don’t you know…well, in America they do, anyway…it ain’t Christmas anymore, so the gloves are off…

All around my fair city – Albuquerque, NM – brand new shiny fences, gates and walls are being constructed at a record pace around the local businesses and even the empty spaces where homeless people used to congregate. This trend will no doubt continue as the numbers of un-housed people grows. It’s one thing to build a wall around your own business but it’s pretty obvious what the game is when THE CITY starts putting up enormous barriers around open, unused spaces.

But wait! I have an even better idea: How about we take all those rough sleepers and house them on fucking GOLF COURSES instead? Am I right?

Set them up in the Country Club. That is a far better solution to this crisis as far as I’m concerned. And a way better use of the land.

I bet you the ‘homeless problem’ would be solved in record time!
